So you’ve decided to descend upon the famous city of London and you want to do a few typical tourist things. Or… maybe you just want some amazing photo opts! Well, thankfully I was interested in it all on the trip to London. But… of course, I was on a time crunch and needed everything to go smoothly. AND…. I tend to get a little fussy when things don’t go my way. I’m giving you the opportunity to learn from my decisions and mistakes. I won’t keep you waiting any longer. Let’s dive in!
London Eye
If you’re contemplating whether or not to take a ride on the iconic London Eye, my
biggest tip would be to buy tickets online in advance. The line can be rather long so in order to save time, arrange your ride in dance. Also, keep your ticket, there is usually a coupon for the Fish n Chips restaurant on site. More savings…. Yay!
Big Ben
Hands down the best way to see Big Ben is at night on top of one of the London double-decker. Not only do you get to experience London’s iconic double deckers, tt’s a free elevated unobstructed view. Of course, it will be harder to get nice photos at night. If you absolutely must, I would suggest going on a weekday early in the morning, just after sunrise to avoid the most crowds.
*Big Ben is currently closed for renovations, expecting to end in 2021
London Bridge/ Tower Bridge
I mention these two together because often times Americans get them confused…. I was one of them. Come to find out, the beautiful bridge pictures _____ is Tower Bridge, London Bridge is quite bland and unimpressive. You can view London Bridge for Tower Bridge. After taking a ride on the London Eye, you can explore the Tower Bridge as they are right beside each other.
St. Paul’s Cathedral
Unfortunately, I did not get the opportunity to enter St. Paul’s Cathedral due to it being closed for a religious ceremony, but I was able to have a little fun on the steps outside.
Hyde Park
Hyde Park providence the perfect backdrop for a beautiful picnic or a nice stroll. There are a few food spots within the massive park. Bring a blanket if you’ll want to sit but there are benches and tables in some areas.
Camden Market
By far one of the best experiences I had strolling through Camden Market. It’s a great place to find great deals on leather and unique artwork. There are a few funky restaurants to dine at as well. Including a delicious ice cream cart.
Just left London last week. Sadly, it was mostly business & I didn’t get to check off any of these beauties 😦
